Biblical Principles

In “Simple Money, Rich life” Bob Lotich authentically and genuinely provides steps to help create a vision that stands on biblical principles for a joy filled financially free life.
All these years I had it wrong. Listened to too many unbiblical principles, unwise guidance and suggestions from those who thought they had it figured out. No judgement of any of them, they did what they knew and shared what they felt would help me on my financial journey. And I acknowledge my lack thereof because I had free will, even when I was given wise counsel.
Not only did this book open my eyes but it taught me more than the value of the dollar. It taught me the value of Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” How powerful is that but how hard can it be to trust it? When you have all these wants and desires and none of it involves seeking the kingdom of God.
I believe with all my heart, that had I controlled my desires before a marriage and children that I would be in a much better financial situation. Yes divorce happened and single parenting life started but I had no savings and everything was check to check. I paid my tithes and I gave offerings and even blessed many with financial or material blessings and gave my time to serve others but none of that truly mattered and added up until I understood the principle behind it all.
“Simple money, Rich life” reminded me of that principle on a greater scale. It’s simply “we reap what we sow with our giving” and it is written in scripture. I am a King James Version reader and in 2 Corinthians 9:6 “Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully”
There are a tremendous amount of gems but one takeaway without you reading a book that is $1 and you pay shipping and handling (great investment by the way) but as I was saying a key takeaway is “when we keep our hearts tuned to God, we can spend guilt-free and enjoy the fruit of our labor” because scripture says 1 Timothy 6:17-19 “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.”
This is where showing gratitude for what we have and being content in the things of God is truly displayed and lived.
I pray this blesses you.
